Dreamweaver Tutorials

December 6, 2010

We had our final Dreamweaver tutorial today which summed up the five lessons we had over the last few weeks. I have learned a lot from these sessions even though I’ve been coming away from them with my head scrambled from staring at the foreign languages of HTML and CSS. These sessions combined with the extra online tutorials I have been doing have left me well equipped to construct a functional website.

Session One covered:

File organisation
How to arrange HTML
The purpose of CSS
Web safe colours and fonts

Session Two Covered:

Image slicing and preparation
Meta tags and descriptions
Brief introduction to SEO

Session Three Covered:

Full in depth coverage of how CSS works

Session Four Covered:

Browser testing
Including javascript in a site
Adding a lightbox slideshow

Session Five Covered:

Structuring pages in a logical order
jQuery implementation and editing
