Ron English Followed by Andrew McAttee

July 23, 2011

I finally managed to get the chance to swing by the Lazarides gallery to see the Ron English exhibition. His work is mesmerizing, taking inspiration from pop-art but with his own unique style. The colours he uses and the 3D effects he manages to achieve are just incredible and these images just do not do him justice.

After visiting the exhibition, I managed to meet up with a hugely inspirational artist that I have followed for years, Andrew McAttee! Having wanted a print of his for years, We (my partner and I) got in touch via email and met up at Waterloo Station for a coffee and a chat. He talked about the many pitfalls that artists can fall into and gave me some fantastic advise on how to get started myself. He even said that he would help put me in touch with people that could boost my career. With the amount of pretentious fuck wits in the world of Art, Andrew McAttee is the most genuine, down to earth guy and it was an absolute honour to finally meet him.
